One thing I think this game fails in is that I get intressed in the end, but not the journey to the end.. Yes,well,my brain cells are sufficiently taxed.Or I don't have any.Thought I had a brain once....not 'ne' more.I just don't get it.Walk....hit Q button....go have dinner at a restaurant....come back....hit Q button....leave game.Good narrative and that's about it for ME!Anyone who get's it.Buy it.. A bunch of pretentious drivel. The game trys to be deep and phylosphical, but it just ends up been slow, boring, and cheesy. The ending is terrible. The pacing is slow and dull. Plan on just 30-40 minutes of walking with cruise control while having terrible poems recited to you by a monocrome voice actor.I do appreciate that this game is trying to be something different, and for that it deserves praise. It just fails to be interesting or engaging. I found myself 2-3 times browing the web on my phone while my character was on walking cruise control.. As a nature lover is a must for me to have this game ! The enviroment looks is really like when you are in nature and it feels like you exlore this beautifull place and and I was able to take screenshots exactly how I see the place with my own eyes.. The story is also nice and surprising (I will not spoil :P )well I haven't found the Genie yet but I hope I will :)The game can be playable again not only to get a different end but to see other places and make new screenshots and also in any time for exploration ;)The voices are also nice and clear. I was able to understand the story without the subtitles, but it is nice that there are subtitles.the music is also relaxing or can be surprising ;)well in general I do not want to spoil ! I let you explore by your self .. so yes I definitelly recommend this game!. This walking sim is a fantastic cure for Insomnia, sticking pins in your eyes is more fun than this. There is nothing interesting about it,nothing interesting to look at and even the narrator sounds bored(and annoying). No liten I quite like these "Walking" story sims,I even loved "Dear Esther" which lis alot more interesting and graphically superior to this dross.I could have saved 4 quid and bought two extra pints of lager at my local.. This review is LOONG overdue but Genie is in my top five favorite walking simulators ever. EVER. I love, love, love the narrative, contributed by great voice acting because you keep wanting to hear more and sometimes space out on the gameplay, while getting lost in Lula's thoughts and stories ;) The game is very extensive, with multiple endings and different paths to take. I definitely think you get your money's worth, with all of the twenty minute walking sims out there. Genie is also filled with beautiful graphics and some very fun easter eggs too. And if you're into riding dragons - there is a surprise at the end (because yes, I was thinking about the dragon the entire time!) :). I really loved Firewatch so I was eager to try out a new walking simulator. Too bad I chose Drizzlepath: Genie. I've played about half an hour before I really, really, really had enough of this pretentious, boring, annoying excuse for a game. The voice acting is horrible, the random words that are supposed to form sentences are really just drizzle. You can't call this a story. The scenery is mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor. Take a walk outside and safe the money. Wait until it slightly rains, take an audiobook with poorly written poems and listen to them while walking and try to remember the pretentious thoughts about life and the world you had when you were a teenager. It will be more rewarding then this...this...thing. Which is not a game. Or play Firewatch instead. Which is gorgeous, beautiful, well written, great and perfect.
